Deccan Chronicle buy back at Rs 250/shr

The board of directors of Deccan Chronicle Holdings (DCHL) cleared a proposal for buy back of equity shares worth about Rs 250 crore at a maximum price of Rs 250 per share.

The company is also planning a private placement of up to 24% of equity in its 100% subsidiary, Sieger Solutions, with a floor enterprise value of Rs 1,500 crore and upper limit of Rs 1,800 crore.

Northgate raises $30mn on Luxembourg bourse

Northgate Technologies today informed the BSE that it has raised $30 million on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange under the Euro MTF market. The company had issued 3.66 million global depository receipts (GDRs) on October 23, 2007, at a price of $8.20 per GDR aggregating $30 million.

Each GDR represents half of one equity share of the company.

Northgate's main focus is on online advertising and internet telephony.

ITC Q2 net up 13% at Rs 771cr

ITC today reported a 13.4% increase in net profit at Rs 770.90 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2007 when compared with Rs 679.60 crore in Q2FY07.

Total income moved up to Rs 3,481.63 crore from Rs 2,945.36 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2006.

Larsen & Toubro Q2 net surges 73%

Larsen & Toubro today reported a net profit of Rs 348 crore for the second quarter ended September 2007, an increase of 73% from Rs 201.20 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The company's total income for the quarter ended September 2007 stood at Rs 5,523.20 crore as against Rs 3,847.80 crore in the same period last year.
