MRF gains on expansion buzz - Dec 20 12:30

 

Meanwhile, BSE Sensex was up 156.13 points or 0.82% to 19,248.09.

On BSE 1,222 shares were traded in the counter. The stock had an average daily volume of 13,939 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 7199.70 and a low of Rs 7070 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 8955.55 on 1 November 2007 and a 52-week low of Rs 3100 on 8 March 2007.

The mid-cap scrip had underperformed the market over the past one month till 19 December 2007, declining 1.98% as compared to the Sensex's decline of 0.98%. It had outperformed the market in the past one quarter, gaining 85.23% as compared to the Sensex's rise of 16.79%.

The company's current equity is Rs 4.24 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

The current price of Rs 7129 discounts Q4 September 2007 annualized EPS of Rs 609.25 by a PE multiple of 11.70.

As per recent reports, MRF's greenfield Rs 500 crore facility will come up in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. The company is in talks with the state government for acquiring land, the report added.

On 5 October 2007, MRF said its turnover crossed Rs 5000 crore mark in financial year ended 30 September 2007. It has thereby become first Indian tyre company with annual turnover of over Rs 5000 crore.

MRF's net profit rose 24.2% to Rs 64.58 crore on 8.5% growth in net sales to Rs 1136.22 crore in Q4 September 2007 over Q4 September 2006.

MRF manufactures the largest range of tyres in India and exports to over 65 countries worldwide.
