Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) announced after market hours on Monday, 31 December 2007 that it has agreed to sell 8.03 crore equity shares of Rs 10 each of HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company (HDFC SLIC) to Standard Life (Mauritius Holdings) 2006 representing 7.15% of the total issued and paid-up equity capital of HDFC SLIC. Consequent to the stake sale, Standard Life (Mauritius Holdings) 2006 would hold 26% of the total issued and paid-up equity capital of HDFC SLIC.

Koutons Retail India announced after the market hours on Monday, 31 December 2007 that it has decided to acquire the 100% shareholding of DBG Retail Holdings.

Everest Industries a pioneer in providing building solutions said it has decided to incorporate a wholly-owned subsidiary Everest Building Solutions.

As per reports, Chennai-based communications service provider, Dhanus Technologies has reached final round of negotiations with Boursan Holding, Turkey's diversified business conglomerate, to acquire its telecom arm -- Boursan Telekom Corporation. Dhanus has emerged as the lead bidder quoting over Rs 300 crore for Boursan's telecom assets.

The Reserve Bank of India said on Monday 1 January 2008 foreign funds can buy equity shares and convertible debentures of IFCI through primary and secondary markets up to 74 % of the capital of the company.

Marksan Pharma said on Monday it has signed an agreement with U.K.'s Hale Group to buy it out along with its subsidiary. The acquisition will be executed through Marksan's U.K.-based unit, it said in a statement.
